Manchester United midfielder Daley Blind has insisted that he is comfortable performing any kind of role he is called upon to carry out on the pitch.

Daley Blind has been played in left centre back position now since the tour of America and the first Premier League game versus Tottenham Hotspur, which has caused concern amongst Manchester United fans, but Blind has said he uses his intelligence to adapt to the role.
Blind is likely to retain his place in the back four alongside Smalling when United face Aston Villa away on Friday night, live on Sky Sports.
The former Watford attacker has not had an easy time since joining the Red Devils, but last season he steadily grew into one of the most important players at the club under Louis van Gaal. “If you see what everyone can add to the team, then it’s a real battle for places and everyone had to fight for a position. Of course, people always say I don’t have the height or the power but I think I’m clever enough and smart enough”.
Tim Sherwood’s side beat Bournemouth on Saturday thanks to a powerful header from Rudy Gestede, their new £6m signing from Blackburn.
“If you see our opponent [Harry Kane], he’s very good; he wins a lot of headers and duels in the striking position so it’s not only about power and force”.

Blind gets the nod in defence, with the likes of domestic and global team-mates Phil Jones, Chris Smalling and Luke Shaw missing out, while David de Gea, along with the other goalkeepers in the squad, is also absent.
