According to The New York Post, the man posted a video to You Tube Tuesday saying he was a Trump supporter and wanted to meet with him.
The climber started from a 5th floor terrace accessible to the public and got as far as the 21st floor of the 68-storey building.
After he was hauled into the window onlookers gathered on the streets below the Fifth Avenue tower cheered.
Police say he’s now in custody.
