The Secret Service is investigating Trump’s ‘Second Amendment’ comments

It was the Democratic nominee’s most forceful denunciation after Trump caused a firestorm by suggesting to supporters in North Carolina on Tuesday that “Second Amendment people” – those who support gun rights – could take action to stop Clinton from appointing US Supreme Court justices as president.

Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton says Donald Trump’s comment that gun owners “could stop” her “crossed the line” and show he does not have the temperament to be U.S. president. She also said a Gold Star mom got her facts wrong, and there were no stories about her lack of empathy and that she certainly didn’t have the temperament to be president. He then added: “The Second Amendment people, maybe there is”.

“I’m told by the Secret Service that his response, the campaign’s response, was that he did not intend to incite violence”. “After what Trump said yesterday I just thought, ‘Oh no! A person seeking to be the President of the United States should not suggest violence in any way”, said the Clinton campaign in a statement.

Judicial Watch, a conservative watchdog which obtained the emails, said they raised questions about favours between the State Department and the private Clinton Foundation.

The comment was highlighted by USA media and social media users, who expressed concern that Mr Trump was advocating, in jest or not, that Mrs Clinton or the judges could be shot. But the dishonest people – what it is, there is a tremendous power behind the Second Amendment.

Democrats quickly jumped on the comments as further evidence that Mr Trump is undisciplined and unprepared for the presidency, while Mr Trump insisted he was never advocating violence against Clinton. Trump is struggling to transition from his strong grassroots primary performance to a more mature head-to-head battle with Clinton. “But I’ll tell you [host Brooke Baldwin], I’ve been speaking to a number of former Secret Service agents as well”. Voters want a leader to show discipline, and no matter how awfully crooked, corrupt and narcissistic Hillary is, she will say and do anything to get elected.

While also avoiding mentions of gun rights supporters, Trump focused instead on the state of manufacturing in the U.S. and regulations on the coal industry.

“Of course, I’m being sarcastic”, he said the next day. Seriously, I mean like using his head before he opens his mouth.

However, two of Trump’s most visible SC backers, North Charleston Mayor Keith Summey and Lt. Gov. Henry McMaster, said there was no cause for fear and that the reaction has been overblown. He told the crowd – many of whom worked in the coal industry and held “Trump Digs Coal” signs – that he would “put the miners back to work”.

With no spots running from pro-Trump groups or the campaign itself.
