Unknown gunmen on Wednesday killed four policemen including an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) and three constables in Korangi area of Karachi.

The police were attacked as they ate at a roadside restaurant in the port city of Karachi, police officer Naeem Sheikh said.
Karachi, a metropolis of 20 million that hosts the stock exchange and central bank, is beset by armed violence.
In a statement, the army said that security forces averted a major terrorist attack which was planned by the gang to sabotage Independence Day celebrations in the city. Check back soon for further information.
Security forces today arrested five suspected terrorists including those belonging from Tehreek-e-Taliban Swat and foiled a terror bid involved in sabotaging 14th August celebrations in the provincial capital.
The country’s military said in a statement it acted on a tip off from intelligence agencies.
The gang had prepared an explosive laden vehicle and a motor cycle which they were to use on Yaum-e-Azadi for subversion.
It says the captured militants included Bakhat Zaman, the deputy chief of the Pakistani Taliban.
