Created to be a main point of access between you and your smart-home gizmos, Pop is supposed to be able to control connected LEDs, locks, blinds and more.

Logitech is corralling home control with the push of a button – and no, it’s not with a remote.

The difference is, that the Pop Home Switch will work with a varity of smart home applications and can be pressed in multiple ways in order to start different tasks.

Each switch can trigger three actions using different presses – a single press, a double press, and a long press. For example, you could turn off all the lights and shut the blinds with a single press, making it easier for your non-tech savvy house guests.

The interactive accessory company says the idea behind the Pop is to free up control of smart devices so that anyone in the home can operate them regardless of whether they have a smartphone and the associated app for each device. The hub has supportsfor a variety of home gadget including Philips Hue bulbs, Logitech’s Harmony Hub, August Locks, Lutron smart drapes among other. From there, you should be able to assign specific triggers to specific products – either individually or as part of a combined recipe.

“Sometimes you just want to set the mood for movie night without opening multiple apps to turn down the lights, turn on the TV and the sound bar and draw the blinds.” said Renee Niemi, head of the Smart Home business at Logitech.

Available for preorder today, the Logitech Pop starter pack comes with the base station and two Pop home switches for $99, while extra home switches will run you $39 a piece.
