Arsenal transfer target Alexandre Lacazette to be handed bumper new Lyon deal

Arsenal had previously offered £29.95 million in a bid that was £3 million short of West Ham United’s £32 million offer for the French worldwide in June. Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol broke the news and tweeted: “Arsenal working hard to sign Lyon forward Alexandre Lacazette”.

Earlier in the summer Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas warned potential suitors to move quickly for the striker otherwise he would not be moving on and it has now been claimed the Ligue 1 club have raised his asking price from 50million euros to 70million euros.

“It’s worrying”, said Genesio.

Arsenal’s pursuit of Lyon ace Alexandre Lacazette is set to end within the coming 24 hours, with the Telegraph reporting that the French club will inform them that his price-tag is now €70m (£60.2m).

The France worldwide made 34 top flight appearances last term, scoring an impressive 21 goals in the process.

Arsenen Wenger is also keen to bring in a new centre-back after Gabriel was injured Sunday night who now faces time out with Laurent Koscienly and Per Mertesacker, leaving them with only Callum Chambers and new boy Rob Holding as their only fit central defenders.

But now Arsenal’s interest will be put on hold after Lacazette’s weekend woe in the Trophee des Champions.

According to the Le 10 Sport report, Lacazette is Arsene Wenger’s priority target as the 66-year-old looks to sign a new striker ahead of the new season.
