Ranieri keen to keep underdog tag for high-flying Leicester
Claudio Ranieri has fired the starting gun on the Premier League race by claiming it is more likely that “ET comes to Piccadilly Circus” than his Leicester City side retain their title.

Previous champions Chelsea surrendered the title with a whimper and Arsenal were consistent only in their inconsistency, while Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpool all underachieved. “I work to be safe and continue to build a team, anything more that happens is fantastic”. The bookmakers have their main line here set at -2.0 which mean Manchester City need to win by 2 goals for us to break even.
His consistency at creating chances has been the most impressive aspect of the 24-year old’s game and that was evident in the fact that he failed to create a single chance in just one of the 35 games he featured in the last season. “I am very happy and proud that I will be part of it for years to come”, said Ranieri.
“I certainly wouldn’t expect a relegation battle at all, but with Champions League football each week it will be hard for them to finish high up”.
“If we can continue to work hard, maintain our passion and continue to fight with all our hearts, I am sure we can continue to be successful together”, Ranieri added.
Ranieri has a fully fit squad ahead of the trip to the KC Stadium and reiterated his belief that last season’s PFA player of the year Riyad Mahrez is available for selection and will stay with the Foxes despite being continually linked with a move to Arsenal.
CLAUDIO RANIERI, Leicester City manager, who knows the Frenchman’s departure will be costly, and will turn to new signing Nampalys Mendy and Welsh worldwide Andy King to fill the gap. That being said, they are going to be away from home and outclassed in this game so I think anything but a loss will be a massive surprise. I say: “Hey keep going, we have to improve, also you have to improve your experience in the Champions League, it’s totally different”.

But after writing the Premier League’s greatest fairy tale with their astonishing title triumph, Ranieri’s side now find themselves under siege from big-spending rivals determined to end their reign.
