University uses Tinder in bid to lure students through Clearing
Students also expressed to TSR a sense of embarrassment at having to use Clearing; when asked if they would tell their peers if they got in via the system, 48 per cent responded “no”, fearing they would be seen as “stupid” or “inferior”.

However you feel, it’s going to be an important day, and one which shapes your future career. What you must remember is that if you don’t achieve the grades you had hoped for, you still have plenty of options.
If you’ve got a place..
‘My grades are even better than I thought – what should I do?’
Done better than expected?
School leavers wanting to be doctors can apply through clearing for the first time at one of Britain’s leading medical schools as universities look for new ways to find the best graduates. (Although you may have to re-apply for 2017 entry).
If you check your UCAS Track and you have been accepted, that’s great.
UCAS Adjustment Service means you might still be able to get into your dream course.
If you’ve just missed out on a place, there are places still available on Clearing, so all is not lost.
Clearing is aimed at students who have not already secured their university place, but is also an opportunity for anyone who has not yet applied for university to enrol on a life-changing course in September 2016.
Be sure to know what time you need to be at school, find your UCAS login details, remember your phone and contact details for your university, have a pen and paper and take a camera for the photos to send to relatives, friends and facebook. They gave me useful advice about the course I should take. It’s up to you.
A level, GCE, and Advanced Diploma results day is on Thursday August 18. You can either do this at a retake college or with an experienced tutor.
What happens if I want to defer my offer?
The clearing system, which opens after the A-level results are published, helps students find suitable degree courses.
Commenting last week, Sir Steve Smith, vice-chancellor of Exeter University, told the Sunday Times: “People are nervous and universities are being defensive; if European Union students do not turn up, universities want to make sure they fill their places”.
In addition, if you do decide to retake your exams this can be an excellent opportunity to explore exciting alternative options. You can continue with your studies while getting some work experience, taking a mini gap year or working to save money.
It’s possible you can teach yourself all that you need to know for a successful retake by going through all of your revision and preparing fully. If this was the case and you believe you have the dedication and self-discipline to apply yourself, self-study could be a good option for you.

“The research does suggest, though, that many Year 13s and their schools need to pay greater attention to the Ucas deadline”. The support made available to myself and other students has been exceptional.
Tutors can help students to achieve the grades they need through private tuition. I would definitely do your research on the university, especially the course and the city.
