A Google account manager who went missing while jogging near her family home in MA has been found dead.
Vanessa Marcotte, 27, was found dead near her mother’s home in Princeton, Massachusetts, a small town of fewer than 3,500 people.
“We are concerned about the safety of our town residents and visitors that enter out town”, Princeton Police Chief Michele Powers said.
Marcotte’s father yesterday went to the command post at the Princeton Police Department during pre-dawn hours, was briefed on the investigation and shared what he knew about his daughter, a law enforcement source told the Herald.
A Boston University professor says a Google account manager who was found slain in central MA during the weekend was “remarkably sweet” and knew at a young age what she wanted to do in her career. “We are deeply shocked and saddened, and our thoughts are with her family and friends”. “No tip is inconsequential or irrelevant; no matter what it is, please call the tip line, because it may be valuable to investigators seeking justice for Ms Marcotte”.
“That time frame is between the hours of 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. yesterday”, Early said Monday. There is no indication the deaths are connected, but NYPD officials said Thursday they were working with MA authorities to rule out a link. Authorities discovered her body about a half mile from the family home. “It’s a nightmare”, she said.
She was described as much-loved among her teammates, a passionate volunteer worker, and lover of Boston’s sports. While police and officials have remained tight-lipped, some news reports say Marcotte’s body was found naked and burned.
Marcotte worked as an account manager in NY for Google.
Both women, who lived in New York City, were found in undergrowth after going missing while jogging alone in broad daylight.
Residents said, Princeton used to be very quiet and safe before Marcotte’s incident.
Marcotte’s former professor Steve Quigley, who she reportedly kept in contact with after graduation, told CBS Boston, “She was kind, very bright and unfailingly gracious”.
