Milwaukee, meanwhile, will look to snap a three-game losing streak behind right-hander Chase Anderson, who has started to get back on track after a rocky stretch. “That’s what he does”, Snitker said.

The right-hander continued to pitch well but surrendered solo home runs to Nick Markakis and A.J. Pierzynski.

Carter connected on a 1-2 pitch from De La Cruz (0-5) during a four-run third.

“It’s nice to get a few runs on the board, ” Carter said. Milwaukee responded with an RBI single by Ryan Braun in the bottom of the inning followed by a long three-run homer off the bat of Chris Carter.

Pierzynski caught his 1,933rd career game, the most among active catchers. RHP Wily Peralta will be recalled from Triple-A Colorado Springs to replace Guerra Tuesday in the rotation. He’s on the 15-day disabled list with a left oblique strain. The Astros designated CF Carlos Gomez for assignment Wednesday after trading with the Brewers to get him last July. I know what he’s going through and the pain he’s experiencing.

Braves: RHP Roberto Hernandez (1-0, 5.40 ERA), formerly known as Fausto Carmona, makes his second start since having his contract selected from Triple-A Gwinnett on August 6.
