Resident Evil 2 Remake Is in Development, Capcom Confirms
Since Capcom has its hands full with the Resident Evil 0 HD remaster, this remake is going to take some time. He also explains that it will be a while before major updates become available but this is still massive news for all fans of the series and this title in particular!

In July, Capcom asked fans on Facebook for feedback regarding a potential remake, to which it naturally received overwhelming support.
You can stop the petitions and Twitter campaigns: Capcom has finally agreed to remake Resident Evil 2, as you can see from the video below.
As of right now, no system or release date for the game has been announced, though PS4, Xbox One, and PC are probably a good bet for the targeted systems.
“We’re pleased to confirm that Resident Evil 2 has been approved for development”.
The Resident Evil stage play, titled Biohazard: The Stage, will take place this October at the EX Theater Roppongi in Tokyo. The game introduced Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield as they escaped the zombie-infested Raccoon City.
The original game was produced by Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami and directed by Hideki Kamiya, although Capcom has yet to confirm whether either will have any involvement in the remake.

As well as selling 61 million units worldwide, Resident Evil has spawned comic books, novels, action figures, card games, and a successful film franchise. There are no formats officially confirmed at the time of typing, but you should anticipate a PlayStation 4 release.
