The man remained on the ground as protesters gathered to tend to him before gunshots rang out, when the man got to his feet and quickly ran to take cover with the protesters.

FERGUSON, Mo. (AP) – Gunshots rang out but apparently hit no one after a auto struck a protester during a peaceful demonstration in Ferguson, Missouri, on the second anniversary of Michael Brown’s death. Multiple persons described a night of chaos that saw at least one person in a wheelchair tasered by police.

Yesterday, August 9, marked the two-year anniversary of the killing of Michael Brown.

Also Tuesday evening, about 30 Black Lives Matter protesters interrupted a show at the Municipal Theatre Association of St. Louis (Muny) in Forest Park.

The man who was struck by the vehicle was escorted away in a private auto.

He was left badly injured and was taken in a private vehicle to hospital. Some witnesses alleged Brown had his hands in the air (leading to protesters chanting “hands up, don’t shoot” as they marched after Brown’s death) while others allege he was running towards the officer.

A state grand jury declined to press charges against Wilson, and the U.S. Justice Department later cleared him, concluding that he had acted in self-defense.

During Michael Brown death anniversary, the slain teen’s father made a speech during the memorial service.

The shooting did lead to a consent decree requiring more training for Ferguson police officers, policy changes to decrease the use of force and a more robust system for citizens to make complaints against officers.

Michael Brown Sr. reflected on his son’s death and stated to media, “My son built families up, opened the eyes of the world and let them know this ain’t right”. A city spokesman later stated that the auto was punctured with a slew of bullet holes, and that police were in search of the culprit. “This color is not a disease”.
