Each of the six cameras included with the Omni rig runs a customized version of GoPro’s software, which also records a bunch of metadata that comes in handy during editing. Customers get all of the hardware and software required to capture and stitch 360-degree footage using the Omni.
You can find out more details about the GoPro Omni VR Camera over at GoPro at the link below. In the middle of the rig is a small cube that interconnects each of these cameras, allowing VR producers to control the entire rig through just one of the cameras.
Footage captured with the Omni VR can be uploaded to the GoPro VR app, a free player for desktop, web, and mobile devices. In the hope of enticing videographers, the company has released specifications of the 360-degree camera.
