‘Men in Black’/’Jump Street’ Crossover Dead in the Water

The news, which was leaked after Sony’s system was hacked, was eventually confirmed by “Jump Street” directors Chris Miller and Phil Lord during an interview with MTV News in 2015.

Speaking to The Toronto Sun, the 32-year-old actor explained making the crossover is “too complicated” and “high stakes”.

It’s too complicated. They’re trying to make all the deals, but it’s kind of impossible with all the Men in Black stuff. Would MIB 23’s failure to get made be a missed opportunity or a dodged bullet?

So, even though Lord and Miller wouldn’t be calling the shots, I was incredibly excited about the prospect of the Men In Black crossover, making Jump Street something of a ridiculous franchise mechanic.

Jonah Hill is admittedly not a fan of sci-fi, but the actor had a insane idea for 23 Jump Street – have Jenko and Schmidt, played by Hill and Channing Tatum respectively, meet up with the Men in Black. “It’s nearly become what we were making fun of and it’s hard to maintain that joke when it’s so high stakes”. “It’s nearly become what we were making fun of and it’s hard to maintain that joke when it’s so high stakes”. But there’s plenty of precedent for this sort of self-aware sequel, maybe most notably in the later Scream films-which, lest we forget, also featured a cross-franchise crossover when Kevin Smith creations Jay and Silent Bob inexplicably appeared in Scream 3. “So I hope it works out”, he said. After we let that thought simmer for a while, that actually sounded like a pretty brilliant idea. Studio in Burbank, California.

Hill has a point, the movie that made fun of reboots and sequels is a reboot and got a sequel.
