Latest Poll Numbers Suggest Trump Is In Trouble

Hillary Clinton, Democratic Presidential candidate, has left behind the Republican candidate Donald Trump by a massive 15-point lead in the latest poll.

The release of the poll comes on the heels of a hard week for Trump, as several national and battleground state polls have shown him trailing Clinton after last week’s Democratic convention.

Voters also weighed in on the controversy surrounding Trump after his comments on the Muslim family of a fallen United States soldier.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution poll was conducted between August 1 and 4, and surveyed 847 registered Georgia voters.

An online poll conducted by NBC News/Survey Monkey shows her in the lead by 8 points over Trump, 50 percent to 42 percent, up from a single-point difference last week.

A CNN/ORC poll this week showed Clinton with a similar 9-point edge over Trump nationally.

“There’s a reason they call the convention bounces a ‘bounce.’ They can shoot you up to an artificial high and then come down to reality”, explained Clinton communications director Jennifer Palmieri, a longtime veteran of presidential politics.

When asked which candidate cared more about people like them, voters picked Clinton, 45 percent to 29 percent. As of Thursday, she led Trump 47.4% to 40.7%, according to news site RealClearPolitics’ average of major national polls. It’s one of the essential arguments of the Clinton campaign that she is fit and Donald Trump isn’t.

While Trump has been attacking Clinton’s character, former acting head of CIA Michael Morell wrote in an editorial in the New York Times on Friday that Trump “is not only unqualified for the job, but he may well pose a threat to our national security”.

“I believe with all my heart that America is better than this”, Clinton concluded.

Clinton was referring to an incident previous year when Trump kicked Ramos, a Univision anchor, out of a press conference for asking about Trump’s plan to deport all undocumented immigrants.

According to three different polls, Clinton has gained 11 point lead in Pennsylvania, a whopping 17-point lead in New Hampshire and a six-point lead in MI.

She said she’d met with a coal mining family in West Virginia, a state she expects to lose in November. Only 19 percent of voters have a favorable opinion of Trump.

Clinton topped her rival 49 percent to 38 in New Hampshire.

“With more voters already willing to hold their nose and vote for Clinton, and the fact that undecided voters are almost three times more likely to have a positive view of Clinton than Trump, this election could get out of reach for Trump very soon without some major shakeup”, says Anderson.

Analysts are also giving recent polls more weight than most post-convention numbers because of growing party unity among Democrats.

The past three polls conducted in MI prior to the Detroit News survey found Clinton with 3-point, 5-point, and 3-point leads, respectively.
