Pogba joins new boys Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Eric Bailly and Zlatan Ibrahimovic at United this summer.
There are question marks on whether Jesse Lingard, Michael Carrick and Marouane Fellaini will retain their starting spots over the likes of Mkhitaryan, who only played two minutes against Leicester, Morgan Schneiderlin and Pogba.
“Lingard added in Inside United: “I thought he’d (Mourinho) be very strict but, even though he works us hard and his mind is on the job at all times, he also has a joke with the players. It has always been a club with a special place in my heart and I am really looking forward to working with José Mourinho”, Pogba said”.
The Portuguese tactician won’t be able to call upon £89m summer signing Paul Pogba who will be severely lacking match fitness after being given an extended break following Euro 2016.
“When you add the new signings to the players we already had at the club – the youngsters like Martial and Rashford should improve again this season and the top-class worldwide players – it looks a nicely balanced squad at this moment in time”.
Juan Mata, who was sold to United by Mourinho for £37.1m in January 2014, is another player who has been told that he will contribute in the first-team this season.
“When I heard some of the comments and heard some of the managers criticising that, I don’t think they ever have this problem because, to have this problem, you need to be at one of the top clubs in the world”. He fits right in to Mourinho’s philosophy and he’s going to do great. “They lacked goals last season, but they’ve got lots of options now and lots of goals in the team so they should go very close this year”.
Parlour, however, believes Pogba could be afforded more freedom in a similar system at United this season.
“I feel this. I spoke with him a few times and he gave me energy and positivity”.
“I like everything (about Pogba)”, Mourinho said.
