Samsung expects newly launched Galaxy Note 7 to post handsome sales

The iris scanner is probably the most buzzed-about feature to land on the Note 7, but Samsung isn’t the first to use it as a biometric security. Also, the package is expected to come with a bundled Samsung Gear VR headset or a 256 GB memory card.

That’s why the new Note 7, which was announced Tuesday, looks a lot like Samsung’s previous plus-sized smartphones, the Note 5 and S6 Edge+.

The Note 7 will be available in the U.S. in three colours: black, silver, and a unique blue that Samsung is calling “Blue Coral”.

That didn’t stop here.

Samsung sold 17 million units of the Galaxy S7 smartphone in the April-June period.

Other key specifications of the Galaxy Note 7 include the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system, 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM, 64GB of UFS 2.0 storage, a 12-megapixel Dual Pixel rear camera, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera and a huge 3,500 mAh battery. The new flagship also adopted the IP68 water resistant feature, as well as the choice to expand storage via a microSD card. It size is bigger at 5.7 inches. Samsung has also partnered with Amazon so that Prime users will be able to stream HDR videos through Amazon Prime. Galaxy Note 3 Widely credited to kickstart Samsung’s dominance of the smartphone world, the Note 3, launched in September 2013, was meant to have a more premium look with a plastic leather rear and metallic bezel (although not everyone agreed with that when the actual unit came out).

The display tech used is Super AMOLED and features a much larger screen-to-body ratio in comparison to a Galaxy S7 edge.
