Packer Fans Welcome Favre to the Hall of Fame
Being Kenny Stabler coming out of tunnel. No, all of those times it was just about loving football.

Favre talked about the December 22, 2003, game when he played the Oakland Raiders the day after his father’s death. And we laughed, we cried, we tried to sleep.
“So it was the last high school football game of my high school career”, Favre recalled, “and although I don’t remember how I had played before, and I don’t remember how I played in the last game, what I do remember is sitting outside the coach’s office, say, on a Wednesday, waiting for my father to come out so we could leave”.
While Favre didn’t break any records by having his spouse introduce him – she’s the second wife to do so for a Hall of Famer – he may have broken one with his speech.
Much of Favre’s speech focused on his bond with his father. Several times he had to stop as emotions threatened to overwhelm him.
Brett Favre inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. “I think the bust is going to be a lot better than the real product”.
The first 22 minutes were about nothing more than his family (“I’m an extremely blessed man”, Favre said). How he met Deanna (it was the night of that Saints game), and how she continues to inspire him.
Favre’s daughters were on hand, along with his son-in-law and two grandsons.
“To have a victor like that they won the Super Bowl with Brett I was at every home game preseason postseason and even the return to title town”, said Packers fan Nick Brandl.
Brett Favre had many a sports fan in tears during his illustrious career – mainly fans of the teams the quarterback beat on his way to the National Football League record for all-time career wins.
Outside linebacker Kevin Greene, who played 15 seasons with the Rams, Steelers and Panthers, totaled 160 sacks in his career, including 97.5 when he was 30 or older. Favre had more than a dozen productive seasons after that. Favre also set playoff records for yards (5,855), attempts (791), completions (481) and 20 consecutive games with a touchdown pass.
Former Green Bay quarterback Brett Favre looks on after giving his acceptance speech during the 2016 NFL Hall of Fame enshrinement at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium. Not bad for a kid whose only scholarship offer came from Southern Miss.
“The crowd stood and they pointed in the direction of the Saints tunnel and, as I stood, I saw this long, grey-haired scruffy bearded player emerging from the tunnel”. But I thought to myself: That’s a pretty good compliment, you know? The show is scheduled to air on Time Warner Cable SportsChannel in select Wisconsin markets on Thursday, Aug. 11, and will be posted on packers.com later in the week.
“There’s no doubt whatsoever”, Favre said.
Between the beginning of preseason play Sunday and the Pro Football Hall of Fame inductions Saturday, it’s been an eventful weekend for the NFL and Canton, Ohio.
Even in the twilight of his career, Favre found some success on the stat sheet with those teams, including leading the Vikings, a major rival of the Packers, to an NFC North title in 2009. “All of this excitement has me wanting to call (ESPN reporter) Ed Werder and spread the word again”.
