Here’s what we know at the moment.
The attacks took place just a few days before the first anniversary of Bangkok bombing at the Hindu Erawan Shrine that claimed lives of 22 people and injured over 100. “There was a loud noise and police were running everywhere, it was awful”, Michael Edwards, an Australian tourist told AFP. Four are from Germany, three from the Netherlands, two from Italy and one from Austria, according to police.
Police have no immediate indication of a possible motive, Samer said.
The series of attacks began in Trang at 3pm on Thursday. On Thursday, two earlier blasts hit the resort, killing a woman and injuring over 20 people.
The two bombs that went off in Hua Hin were hidden in potted plants and went off within 30 minutes of each other in the bar district of the popular beach town.
At least six and possibly eight explosions have occurred in Hua Hin, Phuket and Surat this morning around 8am. Thai police said that several people were killed and wounded dozens more.
Shops in the city centre closed afterwards and normally bustling streets were empty, before Hua Hin was hit again by another bomb that exploded near a clock tower, killing one person and wounding four more.
Foreign governments, including the United States, issued warnings urging travellers to avoid affected areas.
Thailand’s southern-most Narathiwat, Yala and Pattani provinces are majority-Malay and predominantly Muslim.
Thai authorities accused two Uighur men from western China of the bombing, the deadliest attack of its kind in Thailand in recent years.
Thai authorities published a list of 10 foreigners injured in Thursday’s blasts in Hua Hin, including Austrian, UK, Dutch, German and Italian nationals.
The choice of Hua Hin as a target is symbolic, our correspondent says, being known as a royal city and the king’s favoured residence outside Bangkok.
“We must not make people panic more”. It set off sometimes bloody battles for power between his supporters and opponents, who include the military. His successor and sister, who became prime minister in 2011, was overthrown by the military coup in 2014.
Thais voted less than a week ago in a referendum to adopt a military-backed constitution, the first test of Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha at the ballot box since he seized power in the 2014 coup.

Opponents of the military-drafted constitution argue that it is laced with undemocratic principles and was created to keep the military in power for five more years.
