An overzealous Trump supporter who climbed Trump Tower on August 10 in order to speak with Donald Trump has been charged, according to police. After being spotted on the side of the building, which he quickly moved up with the use of what appear to have been very strong suction cups, crowds gathered in the area surrounding the building.

A New York City man is being evaluated after scaling Trump Tower before being taken into custody.

Donald Trump plans to build a wall on the border with Mexico. The video, posted to YouTube, shows a man who looks like the climber talking about why he planned to climb Trump Tower. He started his ascent on the 5th floor observation deck.

Rogata was undergoing a psychological evaluation at Bellevue Hospital, according to ABC7. However, the 19-year-old, whose identity still hasn’t been released, is now at Bellevue Hospital undergoing an evaluation, and hasn’t yet gotten his meeting. He said he climbed the tower to get Trump’s attention, adding that if he had used “conventional means”, he would not be successful.

After three hours of unsuccessfully trying to block his path, by cutting out openings from air conditioning vents and knocking out windows, NYPD Emergency Service Unit officers grabbed him at the 21st floor. Steve said it was in Trump’s interest to honor this request.

“I reached out. I took hold of his hand, and I said, ‘Sir, would you come with me?'” said Christopher Williams, the detective who made the grab. Rogata told police he climbed Trump Tower because he wanted to meet the Republican presidential nominee. “Believe me, if my objective was not significant, I would not risk my life pursuing it”. Rogata was known as Michael Joseph Ryan, but recently changed his name and had new identification with him.

Trump was not in the building at the time, but later tweeted: “Great job today by the NYPD in protecting the people and saving the climber”.

Parts of the building, including the terraces, are open to the public during the day.
