Karma Revero revealed with solar roof that can power auto
Fisker had used a 2.0-litre petrol engine from GM as a range-extender, while Karma has an agreement to get components from BMW – this suggests a similar drivetrain to the 3 Series plug-in hybrid, though nothing is confirmed.

The newly formed Karma Automotive has been built upon the remains of Fisker Automotive, which closed for business in 2013 because of a lack of funding.
Fisker Automotive’s assets were bought by the USA subsidiary of Wanxiang Group, a Chinese automotive parts supplier that also acquired the assets of Livonia-based battery supplier, A123 Systems.
The unveiling of the Revero could be taken as the Wanxiang’s move to improve Karma Automotive’s reliability.
American brand Karma says this is the first time a production auto has featured such an energy system in the United States market. Voltage from the solar panel will charge the high voltage drive battery in the vehicle.
If what Karma said is true, then the Revero will definitely be more than enough to kill Tesla Motors.
He also said that the new vehicle will still remain a plug-in hybrid, with a new battery pack and redesigned drivetrain that should add up to its performance and electric range.
Apart from this, the hybrid-carmaker also claims that the infotainment display system has been kept quite simple and intuitive with easy-to-use controls and settings.
Interested people can book the Karma Revero from September 8 onward, and the company has not revealed details about the car’s price, production, or sales.

Current owners of Karma vehicles can reserve their new Revero on Karma’s website even before the official launch.
