As Judge Catherine Pooler read his charges aloud, Griffith can be seen on in-court camera twerking before laughter is heard in the Miami-Dade County bond court.
He has been charged with burglary and trespassing in a school safety zone.
Calvin Griffith, 30, showed off his Miley Cyrus-esque moves to the judge during his first appearance on charges that he broke into a local school and stole an employees auto keys and then the vehicle. Griffith’s microphone was turned off after he continued to speak, but that’s when he started twerking.
Griffith’s mother was in court with a bag of prescription medications for her son.
Griffith was arrested after he allegedly stole a Volkswagen from a Miami high school earlier in the day, local television station WSVN reported. He suffers from mental illness and was off his medications.
Griffith was rewarded with a bond of $18,500.
Police said Griffith entered Miami Edison’s attendance office on Tuesday.
