So long and thanks for all the great moments, Michael Phelps. She and teammate Rajeev Ram faced two match points Thursday and saved both in rallying from a set down for a 6-7 (4), 7-6 (3), 10-8 tiebreak win over Kiki Bertens and Jean-Julien Rojer of the Netherlands.

Indeed, Lochte has achieved almost as much in the 200 IM during his career as Phelps.
The silver went to Japan’s Kosuke Hagino and the bronze to China’s Wang Shun. Ledecky outpaced second-place finisher Boglarka Kapas of Hungary by nearly seven seconds.
Jacob Pebley’s first trip the Olympics ended with a fifth-place finish in Thursday’s 200-meter backstroke finals at the Rio Games.
Phelps didn’t just win – he smashed it.
There are also several other finals set for the night session, including the women’s 200-meter breaststroke, men’s 200-meter backstroke and women’s 100-meter freestyle. He ended his run with a dominant freestyle and paced the competition. It was Murphy’s second gold medal of the Olympics. Then he’ll close out these Olympics in the 400 medley relay. Australia’s Cate Campbell, who broke the Olympic record in the semifinal heat and holds the World record as well, is the clear favorite to win gold tonight. She also has the 4×200 relay gold and a 4×100 silver. It was a far cry from the London Games, where “Missy The Missile” became only the second American woman to take four gold medals in a single Olympics. Sweden’s Sarah Sjostrom finished third. Aaron Peirsol pulled off the sweep at Athens in 2004, and Lenny Krayzelburg claimed both golds at the 2000 Sydney Games. This will likely be the final time these two compete, as Phelps has said he’s all but assuredly done with competitive swimming after these Games. “I only have to put a racing suit on two more times and I only have to warm down one more time”.
“The hundred back was a real confidence booster”. Thursday night, daddy Phelps brought that medal count up to 22 and Boomer was in the stands. The 31-year-old has fought back from major injuries several times in her career and just finished a yearlong break after the birth of her son. “It turned out that way”.
Kaneto, 27, is the third Japanese swimmer to win the event after Hideko Maehata in 1936 and Kyoko Iwasaki in 1992.
“Well, he told me not to take a hard stroke so I tried not to”.
