We’ve been excited for Rogue One since the first trailer dropped.

When the teaser for the first stand-alone film in the new Star Wars anthology series, Rogue One, was released back in April 2016, viewers got a glimpse of Oscar victor Felicity Jones as Rebel fighter Jyn Erso. The Dark Lord is only seen in a little snippit, and it’s unclear as to what extent he’ll be featured in the film, but that was enough to get us buzzing.

Then for a brief moment an image of Vader from behind appears on screen. The English actress and Oxford grad leads a desperate plot to steal the Empire’s plans for its Death Star spaceship.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which is being Directed by Gareth Edwards, is scheduled to be released in the United States of America on December 16, 2016.

Felicity Jones, 32, who was Oscar-nominated for her role opposite Eddie Redmayne in The Theory Of Everything, plays rebel Jyn Erso, who has notched up a string of convictions for forgery, assault and theft.

With Rogue One, we jump back in time to when Vader and his Empire took over the galaxy and the rebellion valiantly stood in its way.

Subsequent scenes feature a new robot character voiced by Alan Tudyk, a blind warrior played by Hong Kong action star Donnie Yen, and an Imperial Walker being struck by a missile. “Let’s just get this over with, shall we?” she asks when she is brought into a meeting to be informed of her mission.

Events in this latest Star Wars offering occur between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, with Felicity Jones, Mad Mikkelsen, and Ben Mendelsohn among the new cast.

But nothing, and we mean NOTHING is going to kill our Star Wars buzz.
