Walmart Now Sells Deep Fried Twinkies
Taking a cue from years of fair vendors plunging Twinkies into hot oil, Hostess is debuting frozen Deep Fried Twinkies at Walmart this summer.

This Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2016, photo, shows boxes of Twinkies in the freezer of Associated Press reporter Anne D’Innocenzio in NY.
A state fair favorite is heading for the home.
You can get the cream-filled snack in either vanilla or chocolate.
The Twinkies are immediately frozen and packaged.
To achieve that state-fair taste, you’ll need to finish off the treat in a frying pan or oven before digging in.
THE PRICE: $4.76 per box of seven.
Deep-Fried Twinkies are available exclusively at Wal-Mart for the next three months, but will be rolled out to other stores after that. “We’ve seen the rise in popularity of deep-fried Twinkies on dessert menus across the country as well”, Hostess VP of marketing Ellen Copaken told the AP.
The deep fired version, also, unsurprisingly contains more fat and calories than a regular Twinkie. (By comparison, a regular Twinkie has 130 calories, four grams of fat and 14 grams of sugar.) If you want to add powdered sugar or a chocolate syrup drizzle, though, that’s a decision to make between you and your arteries.

The Twinkies, covered in what Wal-Mart describes as “a funnel cake-like batter”, are available in original flavor and chocolate and should be available in the company’s more than 4,000 USA stores by early next week.
