Justin Timberlake’s Teen Choice Awards speech was inspiring as hell
A month after he sparked outrage for his BET Awards comments, pop star Justin Timberlake is preaching unity among all people. (And no, we don’t mean Taylor Swift shocked.) Garner accepted the award with her 12-year-old co-star, Kylie Rogers and made our hearts melt when she said, “Thank you, this is for this little lady”. He continued, “I try to live my life working most closely with, making music with, and spending so much of my time with an unbelievable group of people-male, female, gay, straight, every walk of life”.

Fans were angry that Grimmie, as she was known, was not referenced at all during the show, even though the show dedicated a special segment to the victims of gun violence. Included were the children, siblings, and relatives of the tragedies that took place in Newtown, San Bernardino, Dallas, and Orlando.
After Jessica introduced each of the individuals next to her, she said, “It keeps happening and it has to stop”.
Representatives for the Teen Choice Awards have yet to respond to the backlash.
Singer Ne-Yo followed with a rendition of Marvin Gaye’s What’s Going On as the uncharacteristically quiet audience waved lighted cellphones. Dwayne Johnson a.k.a. The Rock joined in inviting the viewers to cast their votes at the official Teen Choice website or through Twitter using the hashtag #ChoicePresident.
