Explosion in Northern China Shatters Windows, Causes Injuries

Photos and video footage of the apparent blast that circulated on social media showed a shock wave sweeping the area within moments of the explosion.

A massive explosion has hit China’s northern Tianjin with scores of people injured, reports say. There were no immediate reports of confirmed casualties. The explosion was caught on video and happened approximately 11:30 p.m. local time, or 11:30 a.m. Eastern.

Local media said the blast occurred at a petrol storage station at the city’s Binhai New Development Zone. The explosion also shattered their window glass and fish tanks. And 10 seconds afterwards, there was a big wave, ” the South China Morning Post cited one online user.
