Why Overwatch Replays and Spectator Mode Won’t Arrive Soon
Two heavily requested features for Blizzard Entertainment’s Overwatch are now being worked on as per director Jeff Kaplan.

A replay system and a spectator mode is coming to Overwatch eventually. The same people who would work on those features ended up being re-prioritized to working on high bandwith [sic] server technology, Season 2 competitive mode changes and matchmaking improvements. “We’re really hoping to get time on them”.
Rightly or wrongly, the Overwatch tick rate, that being the frequency at which the game on your PC receives updates from the server, has been a point of contention for a lot of players. Instead gamers should probably not hold their breaths as it sounds like Blizzard is focusing on other parts of the game first before moving onto these features, so you’ll just remain patient until then.
Overwatch already has at least some kind of replay capability: its Play of the Game feature. We encourage players to test the feature themselves so we can collect more data and help improve it. That’s essentially expanding on the Play of the Game, allowing users to save their favorites or save other clips they thought were Play worthy. In League of Legends, you can spectate anyone you want through the in-game client, checking on pro players laddering, watch your friends blow their ults, or catch a high-level ranked game.
One of the complaints from Overwatch players was the low tick rate which was set at 21 updates per second. There’s no option to spectate for spectating’s sake, but that’s likely something that will be available in the future.

According to a report by PC Games, the California-based American video game developer, responsible for popular franchises like “Warcraft” and of course, “Overwatch”, has just confirmed that they’re planning to send out game servers with High Bandwidth for “Overwatch” on PC. As a result, your game will feel more responsive. The rewards can be seen after the season and as soon as players login for the first time on “Overwatch” Season 2.
