It reportedly follows a previous incident on the set of the show in 2010, in which Gibson is said to have been involved in an altercation with another crew member. Actor Thomas Gibson, who plays the role of Aaron Hotchner, has just been fired from the series. His status on the United States crime series is reportedly under review.
“I had hoped to see it through to the end, but that won’t be possible now”, he added. Before that, he was best known for his work on the popular sitcom Dharma & Greg and medical drama Chicago Hope. The writer seemed fine at that time but his team found out and “it turned into something bigger”.
Gibson, 54, was suspended for two episodes of the series after a physical altercation with co-executive producer and writer Virgil Williams, below left with Gibson. In addition to his suspension, his directing stint for season 12 of the show was scrapped as well.
“There were creative differences on the set and a disagreement”, Gibson told the Hollywood Reporter. “We always have and always will”. He allegedly pushed assistant director Ian Woolf years ago.
Production on U.S. drama Criminal Minds was rocked following an incident that saw one of the show’s lead actors involved in an on-set fight. The incident had forced him to attend anger management classes. Human Resources is apparently reviewing his status on the show. According to BBC, Gibson was sacked due to a physical adjustment on the set while they were shooting for the series.
