This Aug. 6, 2016 photo provided by Francine Salazar Turner shows her son Tyler Turner, 18, just prior to his fatal skydiving jump in Lodi, Calif. Salazar Turner said her teenage son was an adventurous spirit who was w.

Their bodies were found in a Lodi-area vineyard after someone reported that the skydivers hit the ground without an open parachute, San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Deputy Les Garcia said.

Sheriff’s officers say the men’s parachute did not open.

Bill Dause, owner of the Parachute Center, said he was a veteran who had about 700 previous jumps.

She said didn’t see her son come down with his instructor because of the distance and not knowing what colour their parachute was. He said they do not yet know why it failed to eject.

His mother said other items on his bucket list included a trip to Hawaii and a zipline adventure.

Dause said Sunday he had no more information, partly because authorities were holding all the equipment used in the jump for investigation, he said. “We have no explanation why”, Bill Dause, owner of the Parachute Center, told KCRA-TV. “The only thing it looks like is something may have gone out of sequence (and) that may have caused the problem”. In February a parachute malfunction killed a solo skydiver, and in May, a plane with 17 divers on board crash-landed upside-down, but no one was seriously injured. People involved sustained minor cuts and scrapes.

He said wind and other conditions were “perfect” when the duo made their jump, adding that other skydivers continued their jumps at the center after the incident. The Federal Aviation Administration will determine the exact cause of the accident.
