So while the American acrobat might not be able to match the Romanian superstar’s ideal 10 (largely owing to the reformed scoring system) she is definitely at par with her as far as performance is concerned.
When Biles started, she was out of control.
Her male counterpart, Japan’s Kohei Uchimura was hailed as “the greatest of all time” by Comaneci after he sustained his all around winning streak for eight years, winning Olympic golds in 2012 and 2016 in addition to a record six successive world titles.
She said: ‘I’m super glad that I can be an inspiration to others and hopefully diversify the sport. If you have not seen her already you should be thankful you have got a few more chances to see that greatness in action later this week. “I think it’s all about having moderation”, Raisman said.
Boorman and Biles have been together 13 years.
It was also the first time since 1992 that both the men’s and women’s all around champions were members of the gold medal team at the same Olympics. In 1955, Dandridge became the first African-American to be nominated for an Academy Award in the lead actress category. She has competed in 15 all-around competitions domestically and internationally as a senior.

“Every emotion hit me at once so I was just kind of a train wreck”, Biles told reporters after the meet.

She’s the nervous one, and says Biles’ jokes keep her calm, as they did when she went into floor in third behind Russia’s Aliya Mustafina. “My body is exhausted and I didn’t get much sleep, and just making it into the finals was a relief”.
Only the judges don’t hand out ideal scores anymore. Raisman got emotional as soon as she landed, then told Biles to go out and stick it.

Tennis great Serena Williams, an Olympic gold medalist, posted a photo of both Manuel and Biles with their gold medals on her Instagram page with the caption “So fantastic”.
