Child bitten by dog, airlifted to hospital
The deputy ran towards the boxer, which then dropped the child from its mouth and ran towards a home. “I pointed to the yard and she said, ‘Oh my God, yes, bambino.’ And she ran out to the child; she was horrified like any mother would be to see their child in that condition”.

The business owner ran to the child’s house, at 3735 Kendrick Court, where the backyard faces the business.
Neighbors say the family’s dog is known for being slightly aggressive, but they never thought she would attack a child.
Budd is thankful she was looking out her business this morning.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.
They were unsure what the dog was holding at first, but they soon realized it was a little boy, one-year-old Michael Diaz. “He said my dog”, said Jones. Animal Services has also responded to the scene. The family turned it over to authorities.
According to the Tampa Bay Times, the toddler was flown to a nearby hospital and is now in critical condition.

Hillsborough Deputies continue their investigation, but said it appears to be a tragic accident.
