Alex Poythress agrees to deal with Indiana Pacers
Former UK basketball star Alex Poythress has agreed to a partially guaranteed contract with the Indiana Pacers, Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports reports.

Former Kentucky forward Alex Poythress was not drafted in June’s NBA Draft, but he reportedly has found a landing spot in the league.
Poythress wrapped up his United Kingdom career with 966 points, 597 rebounds and 77 blocks over his four-year career. As a senior at Kentucky, Poythress averaged 10.2 points and 6.0 rebounds per game. His three-point shooting was better than his sophomore season, but he still made only 30 percent of his shots from behind the arc. ACL injuries in college often make prospective teams very cautious.
Wojnarowski says his league sources expect Poythress to play for the Fort Wayne Mad Ants. Guard Jamal Murray went seventh overall to the Nuggets, while forward Skal Labissiere went 28th to the Kings and point guard Tyler Ulis joined the Suns in the second round.
So, given that IN already has 15 other players signed (the maximum available once the season starts), this is likely just a training camp deal.

Alex Poythress is not only getting his National Basketball Association shot, but he’s guaranteed to collect at least some money this year.
