“I can confirm that Her Majesty the Queen is aware of the news about the Duke of Westminster”.
His title will be inherited by his 25 year old son Hugh Richard Louis Grosvenor.
One of four children of the deceased, Hugh Grosvenor, is the godfather of Prince George, the first child of Prince William, second in line of succession to the throne, and his wife Catherine.
PARTY-loving aristocrat and royal pal Hugh Grosvenor has just become the world’s most eligible bachelor – after inheriting his father the Duke of Westminster’s £9bn fortune at the age of 25. Its property business began in 1677 when the duke’s ancestor, Sir Thomas Grosvenor, married an heiress, Mary Davies, and acquired 500 acres of swamp, pasture and orchards in London, the Grosvenor Estate said.
The duke attended a state primary before going to a private day school close to home in Cheshire.
Gerard Cavendish Grosvenor passed away at the Royal Preston Hospital on Tuesday at the age of 64.
Who is the old Duke of Westminster?
His son Hugh who inherits his fortune is godfather to Prince George.
Gerald Cavendish Grosvenor owned large parts of prime real estate in London, including 190 acres in Belgravia, an area adjacent to Buckingham Palace.

No media was in attendance at the party so we don’t know much more, although Hugh himself said at the time: “The party was simply incredible – a birthday and a party I will never forget”. “I can’t sell. It doesn’t belong to me”.
A staunch supporter of a number of charities and good causes, the duke credited himself with using his vast wealth responsibly.
For a man who now one of the richest in the world, surprisingly little is known about Hugh Grovesnor – other than he threw one of the biggest 21st parties ever.
Talking to Daily Mail, the spokesperson added that no further comments will be made but more information will be given later.
“He’s been born with the longest silver spoon anyone can have, but he can’t go through life sucking on it”.
He will now take charge of Grosvenor Group, the private property company used to hold the family’s property assets, as well as the Westminster Foundation, the family’s charitable foundation which has handed out grants worth more than £40m.
