Gary Kubiak doesn’t name starter for second preseason game

“The thing that is impressive is first play of the game we have a mistake [holding call]”. “There’s nothing to worry about”.

There is no reason to panic… yet.

“I don’t know. I am kind of going day to day”, Kubiak told reporters after the game. And again the next play for seven more yards.

The worst play came on the final play, however. We scored in all three phases of the game.

The first drive of the game was an ugly one for the Bears, as they gave up several long third down conversions and allowed Mark Sanchez and company to march up the field in short order.

Quarterback Mark Sanchez, trying to revive his career as Peyton Manning’s successor with the Super Bowl champion Broncos, threw a 32-yard touchdown pass to Demaryius Thomas to start Denver toward a 22-0 victory over the Bears in an exhibition opener Thursday night in Chicago.

“It was good to get back out there”, Sanchez said, per the Denver Post’s Nicki Jhabvala.

The Bears weren’t much better on the ground. “Can’t be out there making mental errors”.

But hey, at least Jeffery dressed and played. But a play later, he tackled the same running back, Devontate Booker, for a one-yard loss. The two quarterbacks certainly got their opportunities in the 22-0 win over the Chicago Bears as Kubiak turned them loose.

“I was feeling good, and missing the whole preseason previous year I just wanted to get time together with Jay”, Jeffery said. “Bryce tipped it and I was able to come up with it”.

Siemian likely lost a touchdown pass when wide receiver Bennie Fowler had a nice back-shoulder throw knocked out of his hands before he could complete the catch for the score. Fans were thrilled to see the promising player on the field. It’s not like the defending Super Bowl champions got better (they got worse) and the Bears have improved at several different positions since previous year. Besides the first drive, the Bears first defensive unit looked pretty good. “I appreciate them them giving me the rock”.

What impressed me the most in that game was the safety blitzes from T.J. Ward and Will Parks in that game.

The Bears wasted little time getting Jeffery involved.

“I think it was great”, Latimer said. “It ain’t going to look like Week 10”. And yesterday, he walked onto Soldier Field with the mindset of proving a point.

Green caught three passes during the Broncos’ first possession, a 10-play, 76-yard touchdown drive.

With some work, Brian Hoyer can become Caleb Hanie. I think I did a good job today but still a lot of room for improvement. “It ain’t got nothing to do with me”.

Should Bears fans be anxious about their team after one preseason game? Houston-Carson left the game with a neck injury, while defensive lineman Cornelius Edison was carted off the field with a leg injury. Hopefully he can be disruptive and get to the quarterback on third downs this season. There is no denying the talent that he possesses and the potential that he has to break out onto the scene this season as a vital part of the Broncos’ offense.

Head coach Gary Kubiak handed Lynch the keys to the offense at the start of the second half, and the former University of Memphis gunslinger completed six of seven passes for 74 yards in an efficient two quarters. We played a lot of people and we played extremely well, we know that. “He was ready and felt good about it”. But then, I also like an offensive line that can block long enough to see if White can do that.

He surely won’t wait long for his first National Football League reception. White took a redshirt year in 2015 thanks to preseason surgery to fix a stress fracture in his leg.

Jay Cutler passed for 18 yards and got sacked twice in the first quarter.

“It was cool”, White said.
