New England Patriots to acquire Ryan Groy from Chicago Bears
Groy showed some promise in Chicago last year, but the Bears’ new coaching staff apparently didn’t think Groy was a good fit in their offense, and so he’s off to New England.

Groy, 24, originally entered the NFL as a rookie free agent with the Chicago Bears on May 11, 2014. Groy did appear in four games with the Bears towards the end of the 2014 season after an injury to Bears’ starting right tackle Jordan Mills. The 25-year-old started 10 games at guard for the Oakland Raiders in 2013 and has appeared in 15 career games. He played left tackle, left guard, center and fullback with the Badgers.
Prior to being selected by the Patriots in the 2015 NFL Draft, Wells spent his previous four years playing for Mississippi State University.
Groy will look to carry that motivation to preseason action in New England.
