New poll puts Hillary Clinton nine points ahead of Donald Trump
New polls that suggest Hillary Clinton has built a significant lead over Donald Trump in the wake of the Democratic convention are being viewed with skepticism by both the campaign and some key Clinton supporters. Clinton is now ahead 48 percent to 33 percent, a huge turnaround from her narrow 42-39 advantage last month.

A poll from the The Detroit News and our NBC-affiliate WDIV gives Hillary Clinton a 9 point lead in MI.
In an effort to fix some of the damage he had inflicted on his presidential campaign, Donald Trump endorsed House Speaker Paul Ryan to end a four-day standoff that exposed the deeps chasms in the Republican Party over his candidacy.
Other polls have shown Clinton in the lead, though Marist’s is the largest so far. He got 90 percent of the vote from Republicans to Clinton’s 88 percent from Democrats, but independents flipped to back Trump by 13 points. “Polls go up, polls go down, and right now Hillary Clinton’s got an incredible convention bounce but some of that will fade quickly”. Libertarian Gary Johnson has 10 percent, and the Green Party’s Jill Stein has 6 percent.
That margin has also grown since their poll last month, which had Clinton at 46% and Trump at 41%. In the McClatchy-Marist poll, Clinton’s lead shrunk by only 1 point, while she retained an identical 9-point lead in the NBC-WSJ survey. “Despite using a rigged poll by oversampling liberal voters, Hillary still can’t break 41% support in MI, because voters understand that Hillary Clinton represents a third Obama term”.
Clinton still faces distrust and dislike from voters of all age ranges in light of a scandal surrounding her use of a private email server at her home to conduct government business.
Clinton leads Trump 49 to 38 percent among likely Pennsylvania voters, said G. Terry Madonna, director, Center for Politics and Public Affairs, Franklin and Marshall on Thursday.
Complicating the Republican Party’s 2016 challenge are fresh signs the nation’s economy is strengthening under a Democratic president.
The two are almost even among male voters, with Clinton up 43% to 42%.
Young people aren’t certain to fall in line behind the nominees, the survey found. Three-quarters of young adults say the billionaire real estate magnate is unqualified to be president even after he vanquished 16 GOP rivals. In contrast, Trump’s favorability rating changed by only a very small amount, losing one percent to his positive rating.
