Feared Dead After Floodwaters Collapse Indian Bridge

Incessant rains continued to hamper rescue operations in the region.
Navy divers have resumed operations this morning, a Defence spokesperson said, adding, Chetak helicopter of Coast Guard also began sortie of the affected area today. “Administration will ensure speedy rescue and relief operations”.

Chief Minister of Maharashtra state Devandra Fadnavis said 50,000 rupees (about $7,483) would be given to victims’ families. The NDRF teams have been rushed to the spot.
