The body of SS Kamle was found 100 km downstream from the collapsed bridge. There were 2 parallel bridges, one is new and another one was constructed during the British era.

Incessant rains continued to hamper rescue operations in the region.
Navy divers have resumed operations this morning, a Defence spokesperson said, adding, Chetak helicopter of Coast Guard also began sortie of the affected area today. “Administration will ensure speedy rescue and relief operations”.
He further directed National Highways Authority of India to immediately undertake fix work on Mumbai-Goa NH & complete work before 25 August 2016.

Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devedra Fadnavis on Thursday ordered a judicial probe into the Mahad tragedy, where at least 44 people in two buses were swept away after a British-era bridge collapsed on the Mumbai-Goa Highway.
Chief Minister of Maharashtra state Devandra Fadnavis said 50,000 rupees (about $7,483) would be given to victims’ families. The NDRF teams have been rushed to the spot.
