He first played for the Americans in the 2004 Olympics, when he and Anthony were part of the disappointing bronze medalists following their rookie seasons.
It’s expected that LeBron won’t make an official decision on his participation in the Olympics until after next season, and Colangelo is perfectly fine with it.
Rob McClanaghan, who trains Rose and several other National Basketball Association stars in the offseason, said that Rose kicked around the idea of coming to the camp but ultimately decided to continue training in the Los Angeles area for the upcoming season.
“All my decisions go through my family”.
But all that basketball, plus his four straight trips to the NBA Finals, have put a heavy workload on the 30-year-old James.
“I’m not penciling it in, as of now, for next summer”, James said. “I’m not penciling it in, as of now, for next summer. But this is the start of the process for all of us”, James said.
James was not at a team meeting Monday night in advance of Tuesday’s first on-court workout, but he will satisfy Colangelo’s eligibility requirements for the 2016 Olympic squad as long as he makes an appearance in Las Vegas during USA Basketball’s three-day minicamp on the campus of UNLV.
“There’s 34 guys here”. Ive given it all to USAB as well.

In total, three players from the Big Ten will be joining the roster as Indiana’s Victor Oladipo, Michigan State’s Draymond Green, and Ohio State’s Mike Conley are set to join Team USA this summer. “We’ll see where I’m at after the season”. “We’d like to see him have that opportunity if he so desires”. “He will not be collaborating in any practices to the most effective of my knowledge, however … he is aware of he has a [roster] spot”.
