Geneva – A man set a train carriage in Switzerland on fire using a flammable liquid and stabbed passengers on Saturday, injuring six people, including a six-year-old child, police said. A 17-year-old youth and 50-year-old man wounded in the attack have been treated and released, he said.
A 34-year-old woman who was injured in an attack by a knifeman on a Swiss train has died in hospital, police say.
It has been reported that the attacker targeted one woman in particular by dousing her in the liquid.
According to a BBC report, a total of seven individuals were wounded in the attack with four others including the suspect now in critical condition.

Police spokesman Hans-Peter Kruesi told The Associated Press authorities have not been able to interrogate the 27-year-old suspect, a Swiss man from a neighboring canton, due to his condition.
Five people were stabbed or suffered burns during an attack by a Swiss man on a train nearing Salez station in St Gallen in northeast Switzerland.

Mr Kruesi would not comment on what evidence was seized at the home, but said “so far there are no indications this was a terrorist or politically motivated crime”.
