3 get stuck in Washington Monument elevator
According to the National Park Service, three employees are stuck on a broken elevator in the Washington Monument, WDCW reports. Two employees and one park service volunteer were trapped in the elevator for about 40 minutes about 9:30 p.m.

Dozens of visitors who were at the top had to walk down the stairs, officials said.
The Washington Monument is closed today due to an elevator problem. Some 50 visitors were walked down the steps from the observation level.
He said 73 visitors were being escorted down the interior stairway.
It’s not the first time someone has gotten trapped inside the monument’s elevator, Sgt. Anna Rose told WJZ.

She said no injuries were reported. There were also problems with the elevator last May and April.
