Ryan Lochte’s Hair is Now a Minty Green Color

However, as any pool-obsessed child will tell you, chlorine can wreak some serious havoc on your hair. If you bleach your hair, there are things you’re really not supposed to do. By the time he was in Rio, however, Lochte, who earned his sixth gold medal Tuesday night, already had a new hair color: minty green.

It turns out the chemicals in the pools he competes in has had a negative reaction to his hair, turning the Anderson Cooper looking silver into a more Joker style green.

Unlike the pool, there is a very clear reason for the color change. No, there isn’t an algae bloom going on atop Lochte’s head.

The American gold medal victor posted images of his new green hair on Instagram.

Lochte has not commented if he dyed his hair again or if it turned color due to the chlorine in the pools he is swimming in.

So, is that what turned Ryan’s silver hair green?

Lochte has a few more events on his plate at the Olympics.
