For 22nd overall Phelps claims 4th Rio gold, repels Lochte

This is the second gold for the 19-year-old USA gymnast in Rio, but she still has a chance to win three others in various events, reports Efe. Earlier in the day, Simone Biles made us all cry our eyes out when she won the all-around competition by an astounding two full points, capping off four years of dominance in the gymnastics world.

Major feats like this and countless others have earned her name to be engraved alongside some of the world’s most legendary athletes.

Biles said: “I’m very excited and relieved because I’ve finally done it”. That’s because Biles’ teammate Aly Raisman turned in exquisite performances on the vault and the floor to win the silver.

It all started during the individual all-around-Raisman and Biles were competing for the title of best gymnast in the world. “I saw my coach in the stands but it’s just insane I don’t have words”, said Raisman.

‘I’m just the same Simone.

Biles and her teammate Aly Riesman gave a almost flawless performance. Chusovitina said afterward she’s already planning to train all the way to the 2020 games in Tokyo. And it was the one that put her back in first place. While Biles insisted she’s never looked ahead during her long run at the top, that’s not exactly true.

Her final score was 62.198.

Biles still has the opportunity to leave Rio with five gold medals. When Biles came off, the teammates embraced each other, the persistently bubbly Biles crying in Raisman’s arms.

Raisman shared Biles’s “sweet” quote in an Instagram Friday, writing that they are “so lucky to have such a special and rare friendship”.

Though Mustafina led through two rotations, it was a mirage.

Biles scored a 15.900 with an Amanar on her first vault before scoring a 16.033 on her Cheng.

The 19-year-old is also the most decorated black gymnast in history – and according to some, the best gymnast of all time. “I knew going into tonight I was going to get the silver medal because I was going to hit four events”. “This medal is not just for me”.

“No one goes into this thinking they can beat Simone”, said the Bostonian.
