Lilly King earns gold relay medal
Russian Federation swimmer Yulia Efimova tried to get the final word Saturday in her simmering feud with Lilly King, chastising the American for turning the Olympics into a “war”.

Efimova beat King in their breaststroke segment of Saturday’s 4×100-meter medley relay, but King and fellow Americans Kathleen Baker, Dana Vollmer and Simone Manuel took the gold medal, the United States’ 1000th all time.
Efimova’s Russian team finished sixth, more than two-and-a-half seconds behind the Americans.
Miller spilt a time of 59.03 in his final Rio race, touching the wall in second place as Michael Phelps dove into the pool to secure his 23 and possibly last gold medal of his Olympic career.
From there, her teammates poured it on, winning the gold medal with a time of 3 minutes, 53.13 seconds, almost two seconds ahead of second-place Australia. “This completion [of the program] is a relief because I love racing, but this was more like a war”.
Overall the Hoosiers have now won 69 medals in Olympic swimming history, including 39 gold, 10 silver and 20 bronze medals. Efimova asked, per Martin Rogers of USA Today. But Efimova herself actually beat King by almost three-quarters of a second head to head in their leg of the relay.
Lilly King is a great swimmer, but she is not a good sport and she is an even worse role model to the tens of millions of kids who idolize sports stars. However, the US team proved to be too strong overall, winning gold in convincing fashion ahead of Australia and Denmark.
“Efimova added: “[King] is young.
Saturday night, when it was all over, King looked back on her week. “I’m just not, you know, not a fan”.
Russia’s entire track and field team was ultimately barred from competition in Rio, along with other athletes.

“What would she say about Michael Phelps?” “I hope that she changes, changes her mind and everything”. “I’m glad to be that person”.
