Hacker publishes cell phone numbers of hundreds of House Dems
Guccifer 2.0 has swiped a trove of private cellphone numbers and personal e-mail addresses of Democrats in the House of Representatives, posting them online Friday night to the fury of some of the victims.

Guccifer 2.0 wrote a blog post on Friday taking credit for a new leak from the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. They also said the individuals behind the Guccifer 2.0 persona provided reporters secure links to documents housed on the site but not yet published.
While the USA has not publicly named Russian Federation as the culprit, the White House has acknowledged that is the belief of experts who investigated the cyberattack.
The cellphone numbers of House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi of California and Democratic Whip Steny Hoyer of Maryland were among the information posted.
“I wonder what happened to the true democracy, to the equal opportunities, the things we love the United States for”, Guccifer 2.0 wrote. “All of you may have heard about the DCCC hack”.
The publication of documents from the Democratic party is the second this year and another jarring new precedent in an election year, following the release of 20,000 emails by Wikileaks last month. The documents included a file about Republican nominee Donald Trump and what looked like memos about DNC operations. That same hacking group, known as “Fancy Bear”, was previously connected to the cyber breach at the Democratic National Committee.
So far the administration has not publicly identified who it believes may be behind the hack. However, intelligence and law enforcement officials have told CNN Russia is the most likely suspect.
USA officials and cyber experts say they have uncovered enough evidence to suggest that Guccifer 2.0 is linked to Russia’s military intelligence organization, GRU. Last month, it also confirmed that it was recently hacked. Debbie Wasserman Schultz as DNC chair.
The hack, widely attributed to Russian Federation, specifically targeted Democrats and Democratic groups including the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC).
The Democratic National Committee and US Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s campaign was also affected. “That is correct to say that”. That’s where he posted a spreadsheet containing the information of 193 former and current democratic house members.
We already knew that a recent hack that targeted US Democratic officials was going to be more than just access to possibly incriminating emails, but we didn’t realise it would be this soon.
“Well, I think whoever did it is awful, it’s a crime, and I hope they’re prosecuted”.
