Simone Biles just keeps killing it.

Team USA’ strong gymnastics effort continued with three medals in event finals on Monday in Rio, including another gold for Simone Biles. Biles scored a 15.900 on her first vault, and a 16.033 on her second, averaging a 15.966.
Nearly from the time she could toddle, Simone Biles was getting in trouble for jumping and flipping around the living-room furniture.
So Biles went home and worked.
“When I would read those comments it was just like, “What? Because no matter what I do, I am being attacked”, said Hawkins, who said her daughter was being called “Crabby Gabby”. Her first Olympics was Barcelona in 1992, five years before Biles was born.
Just check out that new souvenir she picked up Sunday. “She never won her gold at worlds but now she’s got her Olympic gold”. “It means a lot to me”. Sunday was his second time competing in an apparatus final at the Olympics, after placing fifth in the vault final in London.
Her medal was one of three won by American gymnasts Sunday. Uchimura, who has won the last six all-around world championships and already has gold medals in both the team and individual all-around competitions in Rio.
Or roommate Laurie Hernandez reminds her. “Or Laurie will be like – I woke up the other morning and she was like, ‘Hey Simone, you did it. Now she’s owning the podium”. You could see a whiff of disappointment on her face despite the score of 15.9, which was well more than any of her predecessors had scored. If she pulled it off in competition, it would henceforth be known as “the Hong”.
Biles took a small hop on the landing, and she looked miserable. Her score was the highest of the group: 16.033. It’s a roundoff onto the board and a half-twist onto the table, followed by a front layout with a twist.
The silver went to Maria Paseka of Russian Federation (15.253) and the bronze to Giulia Steingruber of Switzerland (15.216).
For her next vault, Biles turned to a Cheng – a hard vault that, compared to the Amanar, is worth an extra tenth of a point on the judges’ scale – and performed it almost flawlessly.

To celebrate her wonderful acheivments, Simone posted an illuminated picture of all four medals together with a caption that started off with this: “When God got you, you can lose”. I want to be an inspiration, but I would like there to be a day when it is not ‘Simone the black swimmer’.
