Democrat Chris Koster and Republican Eric Greitens will face off on the November ballot after they both won their parties’ primaries Tuesday night.

The race for the governor of Missouri this fall will be between a Democrat who used to be a Republican and a Republican who used to be a Democrat.

Preceding based on news reports and information provided by the Republican Jewish Coalition. Incumbent Republican Roy Blunt is heavily favored in the GOP primary, as is Kander on the Democratic side. “Greitens” so-called “outsider’ campaign has been funded by shady out-of-state interests and morally-questionable donors – he simply does not have the qualifications, temperament or conviction to be Governor of Missouri”.

Greitens isn’t a single issue candidate by any means, though.

“Chris Koster, just another self-serving politician, putting himself first”, an announcer in the ad says.

The former Navy seal is running as a Conservative outsider. “Join our mission. Let’s take back Missouri”. Greitens got $1 million from California venture capitalist Michael Goguen, who has been sued by a woman alleging he sexually abused her for years.

Term limits prohibit Democratic Gov. Jay Nixon and Treasurer Clint Zweifel from seeking re-election.

To receive an election ballot, Missouri voters need to present one form of personal identification, including a voter ID card, driver’s license, Missouri student ID, utility bill, bank statement, paycheck or other government document with a name and address on it.

Greitens was particularly dismissive of the student protesters, comparing them with the young military members he served with in Iraq and Afghanistan. His death led to at least temporary calls to tone down negative campaigning.
