‘American Idol’ alum Constantine Maroulis arrested on domestic violence charges

Maroulis, who was on season five of “American Idol” and eliminated from the top six, was arrested and charged.

Constantine was arrested for kicking his partner in the groin and throwing her to the ground. Ms. Reed has a history of attacks on Mr. Maroulis and his property and these have previously been reported to law enforcement.

According to TMZ, Maroulis was arrested after allegedly kicking Reed in the groin in their shared Wyckoff, N.J., home.

Maroulis’ representative told the website that there is evidence Maroulis acted in self-defense.

Reed, the mother of Maroulis’ 4-year-old daughter, called authorities after the purported incident, causing the theater star to be arrested soon after.

The former AI alum says he also sustained an injury on his thigh after his estranged girlfriend threw something at him. “He consequently left their home to protect himself and diffuse the situation”.

The police came and arrested Constantine, but he was quickly bailed out.

Constantine Maroulis appeared on season 4 of “American Idol” in 2005 with contestants like Bo Bice, Carrie Underwood, Jessica Sierra and Mario Vazquez. He went on to star on Broadway in Rock of Ages and Jekyll and Hyde.

Maroulis and his girlfriend Angel Reedbegan dating in 2009, a year after both started working on the classic rock Broadway musical.
