Seddique Mateen, a self-professed devout Muslim, also condemned homosexuality.

Asked if he thinks people would be surprised by his appearance at the rally, he said: “It’s a Democratic party, so everyone can join”. Seddique Mateen was front and center at the event, and the Clinton campaign was reportedly unaware who he was at the time.

A Clinton aide said: “The rally was a 3,000-person, open-door event for the public”.

“Hillary Clinton is good for United States versus Donald Trump, who has no solutions”, he was quoted as saying. He also showed a sign he had made in support of the Democratic nominee. “I don’t approve of what he did”, Mateen told CBS.

After the rally, WPTV caught up with Mateen to ask him a few questions regarding his presence at the event.
