The other, doping cheat turned whistleblower Yuliya Stepanova, was subsequently deemed ineligible by the International Olympic Committee. Her colleagues in the Russian team all got banned over allegations of a viral doping program sponsored by the state.

“I am a clean athlete and have proved that already many times and beyond any doubt”, Klishina said on her Facebook page following the IAAF’s decision to suspend her.

Qualifying for the women’s long jump begins on Tuesday.

Greene said the IAAF case relies on confidential evidence from a report on Russian doping by World Anti-Doping Agency investigator Richard McLaren, with a key piece of evidence being scratch marks found on bottles containing drug-test samples she gave in Russia.

President Dmitry Shlyakhtin said that the IAAF had not allowed Klishina to participate at the Rio Olympics.

“Furthermore, the IAAF DRB noted that the results management in respect of certain of the athlete’s samples has been subject to tamperingand manipulation during the “relevant period” (i.e. starting on 1 January 2014)”. “McLaren”, their statement explained.

IAAF addressed some questions to Darya Klishina on August 6th.

“Relevantly, the Athlete established that she was subject to fully compliant drug-testing in- and out-of-competition outside of Russian Federation for the “relevant period”.

Further information is set to be published on the CAS website once it is available.

Russian Federation had seized on the new ban on Klishina to reinforce its claim that it is the target of a campaign.

Klishina attended Sunday’s hearing in person at the Court of Arbitration for Sport’s temporary base at a beachfront hotel in Rio de Janeiro, leaving early to return to the Olympic Village by vehicle.

The IAAF has not disclosed what new information it has.

Russian Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko said on Sunday the suspension of long jumper Darya Klishina at the Rio Games may not be the “last provocation” against Russian sportsmen, TASS news agency reported. “At this moment I can not help but feel betrayed by a system that is not focused on keeping the sport clean and supporting rank-and-file athletes, but rather seeking victories outside sport arenas”, Klishina concluded.
